This position is responsible for providing, under the general direction of the Therapist in Charge or Assistant Director of Respiratory Care, all routine and emergency respiratory care in all patient care areas. The respiratory therapists provide clinical direction for respiratory care trainees and technicians. The therapists provide consultation and education to other health care professionals as well. The therapist is in routine contact with patients during the provision of hands-on care and in frequent contact with patients’ families. The respiratory therapist will have contact with other hospital staff, such as nurses and physicians. Therapist I Essential Functions Provide all functions of mechanical ventilation to include high frequency, critical care and home care equipment. Provide advanced medical gas delivery with appropriate equipment to include, but not be limited to, nitric oxide, helium oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and diagnostic gases (5% carbon dioxide). Perform intra-hospital transport of critically ill patients to include patients with artificial airways. Perform point-of-care blood testing, including arterial blood gas testing and clotting time. Contribute to multidisciplinary care rounding with critical care team. Therapist II Progressive Responsibilities Assist with flexible bronchoscopy. Assist with external transports of respiratory-compromised patients. Assist with cardiac patients in the operating room and cardiac catheterization lab. Perform portable spirometry and/or pulmonary function testing. Perform sleep studies; polysomnogram, pneumogram. Conduct discharge training and management of technology-dependent patients. Requirements Graduate of educational program for respiratory care accredited by an AARC-recognized agency. Minimum of an Associate’s degree in respiratory science, health/physical sciences or equivalent with coursework in chemistry, anatomy, physiology, physics, algebra and microbiology is required. Bachelor of Science preferred. Minimum of six (6) months in a critical care setting. Licenses, Registrations or Certifications Successful completion of the CRT examination administered by the National Board for Respiratory Care and/or active certification by the NBRC is required within one (1) year after employment. Active Delaware license is required. Active registry by the NBRC and/or successful completion of the RRT examination administered by the NBRC is preferred. Active Basic Life Support certification is required within six (6) months after employment. Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support is preferred. All new hires must have current license in the State of Delaware. Current CPR training with recertification every 2 years. Ability to perform CPR. Required certfications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS. Graduate with certificate of completion from a Joint Review Committee for Respiratory Therapy Education (JRCRTE) program. Registry from the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (if at the time of employment an individual is registry eligible and has attained CRT designation, they will be given one year to achieve registry. ) Following one year, the individual will be considered an RCPI until registry is successfully completed. Demonstrated clinical competence in patient care. Good ability to communicate written and verbally. Professional growth through continuing education activities. Occasional ability to respond to and withstand crisis situations. Must complete Point of Care Testing training as part of General Orientation. To provide basic respiratory care to newborns through geriatrics. Responsibilities include critical care, general patient care assignments, and related patient care plans where assignments and duties are predominately predictable. The RCPII will develop routine policies and procedures and monitor basic quality assurance studies conducted by RCP I's, including direct involvement in data collection. The RCP II is a mid-level practice RCP, with basic assessment and therapeutic skills in multiple patient populations, and advanced assessment/Skills in select areas or age groups. The RCP II is expected to have higher knowledge, skill, and abilities level than the RCP I based on the successful completion of the registry exam. The RCP II is expected to routinely perform and interact as a professional. The RCP II can handle most circumstances that may arise pertaining to respiratory care with minimal supervision. Clinical Practice - Administers respiratory care therapeutics, diagnostic services, and leads team members when assigned charge with skill and proficiency. Routinely integrates knowledge, skills and experience to promote optimum care for the patient.

Job Description: Biller/Commercial Payer Team Representative II/ BMG (FT) High school graduate or equivalent education required. At least one year experience in Business Office practices with emphasis in billing duties required. Must be familiar with medical terminology, ICD9 and CPT coding. Each shift inspects ambulance and equipment to ensure operation and compliance with safety and infection control regulations and standards. Cross-trains for communication specialist position to fill roll when needed, per staffing. Requirements High school diploma required. EVOC license required . Must have a clean driving record. Summary This position is responsible for performing computerized tomography imaging studies while providing a quality health care service that includes total patient care in a comfortable, friendly environment. Excellent communication skills are essential to this position due to required continuous interaction with public and professional/medical personnel. This position is also responsible for performing basic x-ray functions such as CR, digital, portables, OR and fluoroscopy. Responsible for participation in departmental and hospital programs for quality assessment and improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of Nemours. Primary Responsibilities Responsible for working knowledge and operation of GE 64 slice and Siemens dual energy Computerized Tomography Scanners and workstations. Knowledge of routine computerized tomography imaging protocols, along with performing patient examinations by protocol by designated radiologist. Provides accurate room preparation and instructions to patient/family according to the procedure and physically prepares the patient for examination, which includes explaining the imaging procedure and answering pertinent procedural questions. Responsible for screening of patients to be imaged for contraindications that may be hazardous to their health or to the safety of others. Assists radiologists by evaluating patients and obtaining written screening for administration of contrast media. Starts IV and injects contrast material for imaging studies. Observes patient for allergic reaction after administration of contrast. Maintains work habits consistent with hospital and department policies, reports unsafe conditions and incidents to the immediate supervisor, and demonstrates safe work habits. Operates hospital computer systems for patient data entry, retrieval/order entry and completion of study. Determines proper radiation exposure factors for CT to minimize patient dose according to protocols set by the radiologist. Ensures proper function of equipment by proper usage and maintenance. Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care with respect to the appropriate specific chronological age, development age or social maturity of the patient. Must demonstrate working knowledge of radiology imaging, including fluoroscopy, portable C-arms, portable radiographs, CR and DR imaging. Must have the ability to work well with others. Aids in the training of new personnel, students and physicians. Regular attendance is required. Good communication skills are required. Additional Requirements Needs to be willing to take x-rays and cover CAT scan. Preserves confidentiality, privacy and dignity of patient and visitors, according to hospital policy and HIPPA regulations. Creates and maintains a professional and favorable impression on others by displaying competence and confidence through actions and standards of dress, composure and work performance. Defines procedures and answers customers’ questions and concerns. Can work independently and as a team member. Work Hours per Two-Week Period: Sunday, 10 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, 10 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Sunday, 10 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Thursday, 3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, 10 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Education and Training DE state license with 90 days of employment. ARRT/Radiographer-certified within 1 year of employment. ARRT/CT board-certified within 18 months of employment. CPR certification optional. Specialized medical imaging equipment/PACS.
