Job Description: Sonographer Multi Discipline Job ID  2017-3924 Shift      Evenings FTE        .2 Start/End of Daily Work Schedule  Sat/Sun 12:00pm-12:00am Type    Part Time (not benefit eligible) Facility  Laurel Regional Hospital Department   236729-Ultrasound Overview Conducts general and vascular ultrasound, examinations to locate, evaluate, and record pertinent anatomical, pathological, and functional data.  Reviews results for quality and completeness, refers to physician for evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.  RDMS, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and RVT, Registered Vascular Technologist required.   Responsibilities Explains process to patient, and instructs and assists patient in assuming physical position for examination.  Responds to patient's concerns and questions. Demonstrates appropriate assessment skills prior to performing the ultrasound procedure and notifies the Radiologist, when appropriate. Performs General and Vascular Ultrasound procedures as prescribed by a physician. Thorough knowledge of General and Vascular Exams under Ultrasound. Operates equipment to perform Ultrasound procedures. Accurately performs image capture using digital US equipment. Correctly utilizes the PACS system to send images for interpretation and long term storage. Links and associates studies per the departmental policy and procedure. Utilizes image scanner for prior studies and create CD’s as needed for patients.       Qualifications - AA Degree - RDMS and RVT, required or registry eligible with certification within one year of hire - CPR (Basic Life Support-Health Care Provider) - Graduate from accredited sonography program - 1-3 years experience *CB     *UM CAPITAL REGION HEALTH IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER.
