Resident services supervisor jobs help to ensure that patients in long-term care facilities are receiving optimal care. These positions are both administrative and patient facing, so candidates need to be comfortable wearing multiple hats.
Although resident services supervisors typically work with the elderly, they may see a variety of patients depending on their facility. Resident services jobs can be found in nursing homes, hospices and halfway houses among other group homes.
Duties vary depending on employer, but typical administrative duties include scheduling, supervising and training staff, assessing patients and monitoring medication. Patient facing tasks may include bathing, dressing and cooking for residents, meeting with residents’ families and recording patient information.
In order to qualify for resident services jobs, candidates should be an LVN, LPN or RN with experience. In some instances, those with other medical backgrounds, such as psychology, may qualify.
