Resident care associate jobs are found in a variety of healthcare facilities, including nursing homes, long-term care facilities, hospices and hospitals. These employees help patients complete daily tasks, including bathing, grooming, dressing, eating and other duties depending on the patients’ needs.

Although resident care associates mainly help with basic living tasks, they play a huge role in maintaining the overall health of a patient. In addition to feeding, grooming and transferring patients, resident care associates may also take vitals, administer medication and maintain patient charts. They need to have excellent attention to detail, as accurate records are critical to providing proper patient care.

In order to qualify for resident care associate jobs, candidates need to have at least a high school diploma or GED. Some facilities may also require a CNA, while others are willing to provide on-the-job training.
