Rehabilitation directors oversee the staff and operations of a rehabilitation facility. They may be in charge of physical therapy, occupational therapy or speech-language pathology programs. Although they often work in specialty-specific practices, rehabilitation director jobs can also be found in hospitals, treatment centers and other healthcare facilities

The purpose of rehabilitation director jobs is to ensure each patient gets quality care. Rehabilitation directors must constantly assess and find ways to improve their facility or department, and to develop policies and procedures that produce optimal rehabilitation healthcare services.

Like other managerial healthcare positions, rehabilitation directors are responsible for supervising staff, training, scheduling and budgeting. They must make sure the facility is in compliance with all laws and regulations and function as a liaison between therapists and staff.
