Job Description: Provide professional nursing services to patients at Helen Hayes Hospital on a Cardiac Unit. All positions require license and registration to practice nursing in New York State. Some positions require post-RN licensure clinical nursing experience, or specialized nursing experience, or a bachelor's degree in nursing, or certification in a specialized area. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES: ACLS, Dysrhythmia, and IV Certification required. CRRN, BS/BSN or 30 credits towards degree. A minimum of three years' experience and post licensure clinical nursing with cardiac/pulmonary patients including interpreting continuous cardiac monitoring. The ability to critically assess and evaluate patients. Demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills. Must possess the ability to work independently, efficiently and, multitask Knowledge of Meditech, Nihon and ScottCare systems. NATURE OF WORK & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Proficient in utilizing the nursing process (assess, plan, implement and evaluation). • Monitor patients' cardiac rhythm and recognize cardiac changes. • Disseminate information to the interdisciplinary cardiopulmonary team. • Participate in interdisciplinary patient education programs. • Respond to emergency situations. • Ability to supervise ancillary personnel and other duties as assigned As one of the country's first physical rehabilitation facilities, Helen Hayes Hospital is widely recognized as a leader in rehabilitation medicine and research.
