This position does require travel on a frequent and regular basis; most of the time, it will be overnight travel.   Positions are established in different parts of the country based on the volume of clients COLA has within an area, or the surveyor’s accessibility to a major airport.  Our schedules are based upon the due date for survey, so we cannot guarantee a Surveyor will be near their home town on a regular basis. This position requires working knowledge of clinical laboratory testing and regulatory requirements. Reviews all posted policy changes as required. Adheres to all regulatory guidelines. 2. Job Description: Med Tech - Evenings CLEARWATER ER   Largo Medical Center, an HCA West Florida hospital, will expand access to emergency care in Clearwater in November 2014 with the opening of a freestanding emergency department in central Pinellas County called Clearwater ER.   Located just minutes from the white sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico, Clearwater is also just minutes away from Tampa and St Petersburg - truly the perfect location in west Central Florida!   MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST - EVENINGS   The Medical Technologist performs laboratory testing in one or more sections of the laboratory that assists with the diagnosis of patients. The tasks and responsibilities include: Processes specimens, prepares reagents, performs testing procedures; reports and interprets test results. Performs quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting. Verifies analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity and references ranges for test methods. Works with Physician to analyze results and conduct more difficult, non-routine tests. Serves as a consultant to medical laboratory technicians and phlebotomists as needed. Required Job Qualifications include: Nationally recognized certification as a medical technologist. Florida State Licensure as a MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST (www.flhealthsource.gov), is required. Associates' Degree in medical technology with formal medical technology training. Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist in a STAT laboratory is preferred. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment. MUST be comfortable working alone and covering all areas of lab.

Job Description: MT PRN The medical technologist serves to insure that quality diagnostic services are provided to the neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations for health maintenance and/or improvement.  The medical technologist cooperates and coordinates activities with the laboratory staff, medical staff, other health care professionals, clinical affiliations, administration, students, volunteers and other therapy disciplines as necessary for the provision of quality patient care. Serves as a liaison between the direct care staff and the Director. Participates in Performance Improvement activities to assure continuous Quality Improvement. Maintains cultural and diversity awareness when dealing with patients, visitors, co-workers and all other customers. Promotes a supportive, team-work oriented environment. Fulfills departmental responsibilities with the long-range plan, mission, vision and values of CMC. Is certified as a Medical Technologist by a nationally recognized certifying body
