Under the direct supervision of the Director, Manager or Supervisor, the MT is responsible for the assigned shift as scheduled. The MT may work under the guidance of the MT II, MT III, or MT IV. (MH) WORK SCHEDULE: Variable day shift hours. Position will rotate weekends and holidays as needed.    Job Qualifications:  EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or completion of medical technology program or equivalent in concordance with current federal and state regulations required. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Medical Technologist entry level skills obtained through clinical rotations are required.  LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Tennessee licensure as Medical Technologist as a Generalist or Specialist in assigned laboratory section required. Eligibility requirements will be in compliance with current State of Tennessee Division of Health Related Boards. OTHER CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Certification as a Medical Technologist by ASCP or AMT preferred.

Job Description: Medical Technologist / Micro Job Description Medical Technologist / Micro(Job Number: 00309-3830) Work Location: United States-Florida-Bradenton-Blake Medical Center - Bradenton Schedule: Full-time Description Blake Medical Center, located in Bradenton Florida is seeking a Medical Technologist to work microbiology deportment on the day shift and  every other weekend.. Must have Microbiology experience   The Medical Technologist performs laboratory testing in the Microbiology section of the laboratory that assists with the diagnosis of patients.  The tasks and responsibilities include: Processes specimens, prepares reagents, performs testing procedures; reports and interprets test results. Performs quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting. Verifies analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity and references ranges for test methods. Works with Physician to analyze results and conduct more difficult, non-routine tests. Serves as a consultant to medical laboratory technicians and phlebotomists as needed. Orients and mentors new staff members. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Qualifications : Nationally recognized certification as a medical technologist.. Florida State licensure required.  Microbiology experience required Associate's degree in medical technology with formal medical technology training or qualification under CLIA '88 Regulations.  Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist in a hospital laboratory is preferred. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment. Strong team work and collaboration abilities. Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, walking, lifting, grasping and repetitive motion. Lifting up to 50 pounds.  Occasional stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, climbing, overhead lifting. .
