Job Description: Full-Time MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST II Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Is responsible for bringing compliance issues to the attention of management. Performs high complexity testing and quality control testing on components produced from whole blood, platelet apheresis, and apheresis red cell products. Maintains accurate records and documentation. Resolves problems between departments that prevent production and distribution of blood components. Assists in administrative functions as assigned. Participates in technical investigative studies; evaluate and participates in selection of new equipment; develops validation protocols. Develops and maintains SOPs for internal procedures manual. Performs training and competency assessment for UBS and BSI staff as required. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment; analyzes complex problems; and recommends additional service as needed. Provides technical support/liaison to center operations and external customers. Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, medical technology or clinical laboratory science required. Certification as a Medical Technologist by a recognized certifying agency required or CLIA equivalent for high complexity testing required. Nevada General Supervisor license or eligible. Three years experience in a clinical laboratory setting required. Experience in developing and conducting formal training preferred. Recent experience in Transfusion Medicine, including cross-matching, antigen screening, antibody identification preferred. Requires standing for long periods of time, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Also requires being detail oriented and possessing strong communication, organization, analytical, and decision making skills and ability to comprehend and apply clinical laboratory procedures and theory. Job Description: Medical Technologist FT Nights Job Description Medical Technologist FT Nights(Job Number: 00309-3850) Work Location: United States-Florida-Bradenton-Blake Medical Center - Bradenton Schedule: Full-time Description Blake Medical Center, located in Bradenton, Florida, near the gulf beaches is seeking a Medical Technologist to work as a generalist on the Night shift ( 11p - 7a).  Must have a strong Blood Banks experience.   The Medical Technologist performs laboratory testing in one or more sections of the laboratory that assists with the diagnosis of patients.  The tasks and responsibilities include: Processes specimens, prepares reagents, performs testing procedures; reports and interprets test results. Performs quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting. Verifies analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity and references ranges for test methods. Works with Physician to analyze results and conduct more difficult, non-routine tests. Serves as a consultant to medical laboratory technicians and phlebotomists as needed. Orients and mentors new staff members. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Qualifications Required Job Qualifications include: Nationally recognized certification as a medical technologist.. Florida State licensure required. Generalist  all 5 areas of the lab Strong Blood bank experience required Associate's degree in medical technology with formal medical technology training or qualification under CLIA '88 Regulations.  Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist in a hospital laboratory is preferred. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment. Strong team work and collaboration abilities. Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, walking, lifting, grasping and repetitive motion. Lifting up to 50 pounds.  Occasional stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, climbing, overhead lifting. .
