Patient Population: Delivers direct patient care appropriate to the patients served. The ages of the patients served are adult (18-65 years of age) and geriatric (65 and older). Essential Functions: 1. Demonstrates proper performance of skills reflected and validated by the Pharmacy Technician competency checklist. 2. Accurately and timely fills unit-dose medication orders and delivers medications to the nursing department after a pharmacist has verified them. 3. Makes timely rounds to each nursing unit as directed by the pharmacist to deliver medications, IVs, reports, MARs, etc. and pick-up new orders and medications returned for credit. 4. Accurately completes all credits returned to pharmacy in a timely manner. Appropriately returns medications to stock before leaving at the end of the shift. 5. Assists in maintenance of appropriate inventory levels by following established procedures for drug procurement, storage and distribution. Maintains accurate ordering and inventory records. 6. Prepares IVs as assigned, utilizing aseptic technique, under the supervision of a pharmacist. 7. Assists the pharmacist with cart-fill by generating the necessary reports and accurately filling, exchanging, billing, documenting and filing cart-fill reports. 8. Adheres to LifeCare policies, procedures, all safety plans, and all standards imposed by regulatory organizations.

Job Description: Pharmacy Technician Description Job Summary/Purpose: The incumbent assists the pharmacists with IV preparations, cart fills, customer service and drug profiling. The incumbent acts as a pharmacy liaison to physicians and nurses in matters pertaining to medication profiling, delivery, and problem solving and is an active participant in service enhancement and quality improvement initiatives. Qualified trainer for all pharmacy responsibilities. This is a part time position. Minimum Qualifications: Meets all current State of Illinois licensing requirements for a Pharmacy Technician as specified in the Pharmacy Practice Act. Mathematically able to calculate dosages Pharmacy experience preferred Skills in medication order understanding, computer entry and of regulatory and legal requirements. ~
