Whether it’s due to illness or injury, some patients have trouble completing fundamental tasks, such as bathing, dressing, eating and housework. Inpatient occupational therapy jobs are essential in helping patients with disabilities learn to complete day-to-day activities on their own.

Inpatient OT jobs are generally found in hospitals. In an inpatient setting, occupational therapists help teach patients the skills they need before being discharged. Upon discharge, many patients will continue to receive occupational therapy in an outpatient setting.

Occupational therapists use a wide range of therapeutic methods to provide patients with treatment. Manual treatments, such as exercise, energy conservation and adaptive equipment training, help teach patients how to complete fundamental tasks on their own.

Due largely to the aging baby boomer population, the Bureau of Labor Statistics  reports an expected increase of 33% for occupational therapy jobs by 2020. If you’re seeking inpatient OT jobs, you’ve come to the right place. At ADVANCE Healthcare Jobs, you can search for healthcare jobs all over the country. Search by job title, employer or location to land the OT job of your dreams.
