Holistic nursing, also known as complementary health nursing, is becoming an increasingly popular field, particularly in metropolitan areas where alternatives to traditional western medicine are more frequently sought. Holistic nurses provide care on the basis that they must address the whole person—mentally, spiritually and emotionally—in order to treat their health.

To qualify for holistic nursing jobs, candidates must be RNs and can have an ASN, BSN or MSN in nursing. After practicing for a year with 2,000 or more hours in holistic nursing, candidates are eligible to become board certified. MSNs can get their Advanced Holistic Nurse-Board Certification (AHN-BC), which is the highest holistic nursing certification available. Holistic nurses who want to practice acupuncture and massage need a separate certification.

Professionals with holistic nursing jobs can work in a variety of healthcare facilities, from integrated care departments to birthing centers to private practices. Some even visit patients in their homes.

No matter what type of facility you want to work in, you can find holistic nursing positions that fit your needs here at ADVANCE Healthcare Jobs. Sort through jobs by employer if you’re looking for a particular facility, or browse by title or location.
