Echocardiographer Tech PRN SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* 1.* Performs accurate analysis of all cardiac anatomy and assimilates appropriate data necessary for interpretation of study and assesses the same for the staff. 2.* Utilizes appropriate communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, physicians and staff. 3.* Assists the physician as needed during procedures and monitors physiological parameters during procedures. 4.* Demonstrates proficiency in operating and troubleshooting equipment in the Echo Lab. 5.* Performs job to ensure quality care is provided within defined area of accountability. 6.* Safely transports Echo machine to patient room to perform Echocardiogram or transports patients to department as necessary. 7.* Takes call after regular hours. 8. Restocks work areas with necessary supplies. Keeps work areas clean and orderly to promote patient safety. 9. Participates actively in continuing education and assists in education of new staff as requested. 10. Communicate effectively with Department Leader, Clinical Coordinator, staff members and physicians and serves as a liaison to promote interdepartmental relationships. 11. Initiates and documents patient teaching including family and/or significant others. Uses appropriate patient education documentation modality. * THOSE SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS WITH AN (*) ARE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS CONSIDERED NECESSARY TO ACCOMPLISH THIS JOB.EXPERIENCE Preferred -Two Years Echo experience. EDUCATION Required -Graduate of an accredited program in Echo/Vascular/Cardiac Sonography. Will have confirmation letter from ARDMS with test date by the first anniversary date of employment. Preferred -Registered Diagnostic Sonographer.
