Echocardiographer Tech PRN SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* 1. * Performs accurate analysis of all cardiac anatomy and assimilates appropriate data necessary for interpretation of study and assesses the same for the staff. 2. * Utilizes appropriate communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, physicians and staff. 3. * Assists the physician as needed during procedures and monitors physiological parameters during procedures. 4. * Demonstrates proficiency in operating and troubleshooting equipment in the Echo Lab. 5. * Performs job to ensure quality care is provided within defined area of accountability. 6. * Safely transports Echo machine to patient room to perform Echocardiogram or transports patients to department as necessary. 7. * Takes call after regular hours. 8. Restocks work areas with necessary supplies. Keeps work areas clean and orderly to promote patient safety. 9. Participates actively in continuing education and assists in education of new staff as requested. 10. Communicate effectively with Department Leader, Clinical Coordinator, staff members and physicians and serves as a liason to promote interdepartmental relationships. 11. Initiates and documents patient teaching including family and/or significant others. EXPERIENCE Preferred - Two Years Echo experience. EDUCATION Required - Graduate of an accredited program in Echo/Vascular/Cardiac Sonography. Will have confirmation letter from ARDMS with test date by the first anniversary date of employment. Preferred - Registered Diagnostic Sonographer.
Echo Technologist PRN The Echo technologist shall be responsible for performing 2D/M-Mode, Doppler, Stress Echocardiograms, and Transesophogeal Echocardiograms including processing all orders and reports. The technician shall perform arterial vascular studies which include ankle brachial studies, lower extremity studies and carotid ultrasound. This position will also be responsible for assisting in performing other duties in the diagnostic cardiology department (Special Testing) such as performing EKGs, Holter Monitoring, and Stress Testing. Job may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor. Employee must have the same licensure or have completed the same training to satisfy the requirements of the discipline of the student. Direct supervision means the primary caregiver is readily available to the student throughout the shift. Position Requirements: A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Registered or eligible for credentialling as an Echocardiographer, BLS-Healthcare provider. Â· RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) * Transfers/New Hires have six (6) months from employment to obtain RCS certifications B. Education: Associate Degree in sonography specializing in cardiology preferred. C. Experience: Â· Experience in performing all modes of Echocardiography and Vascular studies. Â· Performs in accordance with delineated job responsibilities and satisfactorily completes a yearly evaluation based on these responsibilities. Â· Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively meet the needs of the patient/internal & external customer. D.
