Job Description: Provide professional nursing services to patients at Helen Hayes Hospital, an acute rehabilitation facility located in West Haverstraw, NY.  We have SNF, TCU, TBI, and Cardiac patients at our Hospital.  All positions require license and registration to practice nursing in New York State. Some positions require post-RN licensure clinical nursing experience, or specialized nursing experience, or a bachelor's degree in nursing, or certification in a specialized area. As one of the country's first physical rehabilitation facilities, Helen Hayes Hospital is widely recognized as a leader in rehabilitation medicine and research. For over 100 years, we have helped restore function to individuals with catastrophic injuries and chronic disabling illnesses, enabling them to move on to active, productive, independent and fulfilling lives. We support them with state-of-the-art equipment and technology and provide their families with the compassion and information needed to make recovery a reality. These positions offer benefits, but salary depends on experience. Shift & Pass Days can be discussed at interview or provide preference when sending resume. We’re also seeking to increase our Per Diem staffing. Our Per Diem rate is $40/hour ($45/hour on Weekends/Holidays) with no benefits. Each year, thousands of patients are admitted to hospitals with heart-related problems. Cardiac care nursing jobs provide healthcare to patients with cardiac issues, including heart disease, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure and more.

Cardiac care nurses are highly specialized RNs. They must be Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certified. They perform health assessments and frequently care for patients who have just had cardiac related surgeries. As a result, cardiac care nurses must be able to perform electrocardiogram monitoring, cardiac and vascular monitoring, stress test evaluations and defibrillation.

Cardiac care nursing jobs are frequently in hospital coronary care units, intensive care units and cardiovascular intensive care units. Some cardiac care nurses work in cardiac rehab centers or in clinical research.
