Job Description:

The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is the national association for regulatory agencies for nursing. NCSBN assists and supports boards of nursing to act together on matters of common interest and concern affecting public health, safety, and regulation. This includes the development of national nurse licensing examinations. Currently, we are seeking an E-Learning Program Manager for our Interactive Services Department. 

Position oversees content development for online courses, serving as managing editor of NCSBN Learning Extension and NCSBN Interactive course catalogs. Serves as the course instructor for the NCSBN NCLEX® Review courses. Writes, edits, and develops instructional design, assessments, exercises, and content for revisions of existing and new online courses as determined. Oversees content revisions, the development of new courses, recruiting and negotiating with subject matter experts, and provides editorial oversight for the work of external subject matter experts. Engages with the nursing community by developing social media features such as blogs, facilitating discussion boards, contributing to podcasts, developing content for web and mobile apps, and writing simulations. Serves as instructor for NCSBN’s Reviews for the NCLEX® Examinations by answering content related questions via phone calls, e-mails and discussion posts from students and school faculty. Develops annual content development strategy for maintaining the currency and accuracy of materials within the NCSBN Learning Extension and NCSBN Interactive product lines. Develops content development plans, treatment and learning objectives for new courses in collaboration with internal subject matter experts. Assesses competitive environmental conditions and conducts assessments. Performs other duties as assigned. 

RN required; licensed in the state of Illinois. Master’s or doctorate degree in nursing with six (6) to eight (8) years clinical, RN and/or PN teaching, and professional writing and editing experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience is required. Three (3) to five (5) years of online and instructional design experience preferred; strong presentation, organizational, problem-solving, communication and customer service expertise with great attention to details and deadlines required. Professional writing and editing experience required. Flexibility, team player mentality and ability to manage multiple priorities are essential skills for this position. Technical expertise must include MS Office and familiarity with relational database queries required.
