Job Summary:

The Associate Director, Program Development, for the Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE), at the NYU Meyers College of Nursing, will serve as a subject matter expert, overseeing the development of program content for long term care facilities, as well as maintaining the content for the existing acute care program. Serve as a content expert, providing guidance to prospective NICHE participants relating to NICHE and the substantive material of its programs. Maintain, implement, and evaluate tools, resources, and programming for NICHE on an ongoing basis, mindful of American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) continuing education standards. Oversee NICHE consultants in ensuring that clinical content and resources developed are (and remain) consistent with NICHE’s organizational strategy and goals. Some degree of overnight travel is required.


Please note: this is a fixed term position and is contingent upon the availability of grant funding.


Required Education:

Master’s Degree in Nursing.


Preferred Education:

Doctoral degree—PhD or DNP in nursing or a related field.


Required Experience:

5 years of relevant experience in healthcare. Experience should include resource and education development, program planning, implementation and evaluation, and staff supervision.


Preferred Experience:

Specialty in Geriatric Nursing preferred or extensive experience in geriatric care across the healthcare continuum. Experience with developing on-line and interactive content for adult learners.


Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

High level of clinical expertise, technical writing, and outstanding communication and project management skills. Advanced knowledge of healthcare, the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations, and the need for geriatric expertise across all healthcare settings.


Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Certification in the area of gerontological nursing (generalist, nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist practice roles)
