About the Opportunity

A leading nonprofit organization is seeking a part-time pediatric Physical Therapist for a preschool in Brooklyn. This position will be two flexible days per week with children ages three through five. We are looking for a therapist who is willing to work in a team-oriented and supportive environment, co-treating with SLPs, OTs and other PTs. This position will be working with children with autism and developmental disabilities with a variety of diagnoses. The ideal candidate has at least 6 months of pediatric experience and is looking to learn and grow within the facility, but we will consider strong new graduates with fieldwork experience in a school. This position will start immediately and will last throughout the entire school year with the option to work the summer program if desired. Apply today!

Job Description

The Physical Therapist (PT) will:

  • Help students access the academic environment and participate to the maximum extent possible in educationally related activities
  • Be responsible for evaluating and treating students with disabilities, maintaining daily progress and attendance records, writing progress reports, attending IEP meeting and recommending adaptive equipment, environmental accommodations or assistive technology
  • Provide the best possible quality care to all students
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences to determine diagnosis and developing appropriate treatment plans for children
  • Provide information to families regarding their child’s motor development and stimulation
Required Skills
  • Permanent New York State Physical Therapist license
  • 6+ months of work experience
