Job Description

The Travel Radiology Technologist will be responsible for:

  • Preparing room, equipment, medicine and materials as needed for patients
  • Cleaning and disinfecting x-ray room equipment
  • Preparing barium preparation, iodinated contrast media and other chemical mixtures for radiographic exams, as required
  • Assisting Radiologists in administration of intravenous contrast material
  • Preparing patient for x-ray; explaining procedures; transferring the patients to table; positioning patients; and, assisting patients at end of procedure
  • Developing film in accordance with photographic techniques
  • Observing patient and machine during procedure; reporting unusual occurrences; and, recording patient's condition
  • Maintaining stock supplies and performs general office duties
  • Assisting Chief Technologist in maintaining radiographic technique charts
  • Differentiating anatomical abnormalities by notifying Radiologist
  • Assisting in making x-ray copies and all other film library duties, as deemed necessary
Required Skills
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved RT program
  • ARRT certification
  • Massachusetts State Radiology Technologist certification
  • BLS
  • Massachusetts State MRTBE
  • Strong medical skills and knowledge
  • Ability to multitask
