About the Opportunity

A preschool in Suffolk County, NY is looking to hire an Occupational Therapist (OT) for two flexible days per week. Th OT is working with children ages three through five that have various developmental disabilities. This is a supportive team environment with a lot of treatment space and equipment, including a playground and a brand new sensory integration room.The OT will have the opportunity to work alongside other disciplines and collaborate with one another. There is an opportunity to potentially work during the summer program with the chance to return the following fall. This is an excellent opportunity for someone that is passionate about working with children and providing quality care.

Job Description

The Occupational Therapist (OT) will:

  • Screen, identify, assess, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and recommend services for students who exhibit a delay or disability in fine motor, sensory motor and/or adaptive functioning
  • Promote optimal function and engagement in meaningful activities
  • Provide support to families and collaborate with other disciplines, as needed in order to address goals and objectives as indicated in each student's IEP
  • Maintain appropriate documentation regarding student services and subsequent needs
