About the Opportunity

A nonprofit preschool located on Long Island is looking for a motivated and energetic Physical Therapist (PT) to join their rehab team! This is a two day per week position that starts immediately and will last through the rest of the 2016-17 school year. The days per week that you are able to work are flexible. The position will potentially continue into the summer with the option to return to the school each fall.This is the right opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with pediatrics and is looking to work in a very supportive team environment alongside other therapists. The school has plenty of space for therapists to work with a variety of equipment on hand for use in treatment. We're open to recent graduates and can offer support and supervision from our Director of Clinical Services. Paid note-taking will be completed on site at the end of the day.

Job Description

The Physical Therapist (PT) will be responsible for:

  • Providing screening, evaluation, and therapy services as assigned
  • Participating in interdisciplinary case conferences to determine diagnosis and developing appropriate treatment plans for children
  • Providing consultation on issues involving effective motor development to teaching staff and other appropriate programmatic staff and programs
  • Providing information to families regarding their child’s motor development and stimulation
  • Participating in in-service training and supervision and seek professional growth by updating knowledge and skills pertinent to performance of job responsibilities
  • Maintaining and making all records and reports available required
  • Performing other assigned duties as defined and directed by the PT supervisor
Required Skills
  • Active New York State Physical Therapist (PT) license
  • Experience working with patients dealing with Developmental Disabilities
  • Strong therapeutic skills and knowledge
