About the Opportunity

An established skilled nursing facility in Brooklyn is looking to hire a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)! This SNF specializes in post-acute rehab, sub-acute skilled nursing and long-term care. We are looking for an energetic, passionate and patient-oriented therapist that wants to work and grow within a facility for the long-term under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. We are open to strong new graduates with skilled nursing fieldwork experience. The PTA should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to work with an interdisciplinary team. This position will start immediately. We are also open to considering per diem therapists for weekend and coverage shifts.

Job Description

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) will be responsible for:

  • Diagnosing and managing movement dysfunction and enhance physical and functional abilities
  • Restoring, maintaining, and promoting not only optimal physical function, but optimal wellness and fitness and optimal quality of life as it relates to movement and health assisted by PTAs when appropriate
  • Preventing the onset, symptoms, and progression of impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities that may result from diseases, disorders, conditions, or injuries
Required Skills
  • New York State Physical Therapy Assistant license
  • 6+ months of Skilled Nursing Facility or geriatric experience
  • Strong therapeutic skills and knowledge
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
